Insurance
What types of insurance plans do you accept?
Elite Hearing of Colorado Springs accepts the following:
- Medicare
- Tricare
- United Health Care
- Cigna
- Aetna
- Blue Cross/Blue Shield (currently Out of Network and working on In Network status)
- UMR
Does my insurance cover hearing evaluations and diagnostic testing?
We will bill your insurance for your hearing test. Coverage depends on your specific plan and the reason for the test. If you have Original Medicare, diagnostic hearing exams are often covered when they’re medically necessary and ordered by a doctor. Routine hearing tests done solely to evaluate you for hearing aids are typically not covered by Original Medicare. We’re happy to check your specific benefits before your appointment.
Are hearing aids covered by my insurance plan?
It is not common for insurance plans to cover hearing aids, but occasionally they do. We will take your insurance information when we make the appointment and let you know if you have true insurance benefits.
Original Medicare (Parts A & B) does not cover hearing aids or hearing aid fittings.
Medicare Advantage plans often include some hearing aid allowance, but the amount varies widely by plan. Some cover a few hundred dollars toward a pair, others more.
We recommend calling your specific plan to ask what your hearing benefit actually includes before your visit.
Colorado state law requires insurance coverage for hearing aids for children under 18, but there is currently no state requirement for adult coverage. Most adult patients pay out-of-pocket or use financing.
We’ll take your insurance information when we schedule your appointment and let you know exactly what your plan covers before you commit to anything.
Do you accept Medicaid or Medicare?
- We accept Medicare
- We do not accept Medicaid
Billing & Payments
We accept credit cards, checks, and 12-month no-interest financing when invoices are over $500.
Do you offer payment plans for hearing aids or other services?
Our patients sometimes opt to pay half of their hearing aid invoice at the time of their order and the second half at the time of their fitting.
Do you bill the insurance company directly, or do I need to submit the claim myself?
For our patients’ convenience, we are happy to have an expert team to bill insurance.
If my insurance doesn’t cover hearing aids, what are my financing or discount options?
We understand that hearing aids are an important investment in your health and quality of life. If your insurance plan doesn’t cover hearing aids, we offer several flexible options to help make them more affordable.
Many of our patients take advantage of 12-month no-interest financing, which allows you to spread out payments over time without added costs. We also offer customized pay-as-you-go service options and occasionally offer special promotions or discounts on select devices.
Our team is happy to walk you through your choices and help you find a solution that fits your needs and your budget.
Are there any hidden fees or additional costs for follow-up visits, hearing aid fittings, or repairs?
All of our new hearing aids are sold with warranties to cover broken parts from the manufacturer. For flexibility, our patients can choose to purchase a service warranty to cover all of their office visits with us for years to come or pay as they go.
